Eric Kosowitz

Erich Kosowitz, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 40 years of clinical experience. He received his doctorate in 1977 from the University of Virginia, where in 1974 he completed his clinical internship. Upon graduation, he completed a two-year National Institute of Mental Health fellowship at the Reiss-Davis Child Study Center in Los Angeles, California. He returned to Charlottesville in 1979, working in a private psychiatric hospital, and opened his private practice in 1981. He joined Charlottesville Psychological Associates in 1983.

In addition to experience in both in-patient and out-patient settings, and in community mental health centers, Dr. Kosowitz has experience with consultation to residential and boarding schools. He currently works with adults, families and couples.  He treats anxiety disorders, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, complicated grief and grieving, and substance abuse.
