Ms. Willett is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults seeking to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing. Ms. Willett has expertise in working with individuals who struggle with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, chronic illness management, traumatic experiences, and transitional life stressors. She has a special interest in working with women’s health and currently holds a certificate in the specialty of Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International.
Ms. Willett has worked with individuals in a variety of settings, including outpatient mental health, medical centers, residential treatment centers, and educational settings. Ms. Willett incorporates a holistic approach to psychotherapy, recognizing the intersectionality of an individual’s prior life experiences, socioeconomic factors, relationships, and health when conceptualizing treatment plans and goal setting.
Ms. Willett completed her master’s degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center with a focus on Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She completed her post-graduate supervised clinical hours while working at a residential treatment facility for adolescent females with a history of traumatization. In accordance with her academic training, she completed her internships through UT Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital. She holds additional training in treatment for PTSD and is certified in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD (PE-PTSD). Previously, she received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from The University of Texas at Austin.
Ms. Willett is licensed to provide services in both the states of Texas and Virginia.
